Douglas Fir’s light rosy color is set off by its remarkably straight and handsome grain pattern. Douglas Fir is widely available in the appearance grades. Douglas Fir will “redden” over time when exposed to light. Their tough fiber make it difficult to work with hand tools. However, it will respond admirably to sharp power tools and machine to an exceptionally smooth, glossy surface. Douglas Fir will paint easily and can hold all types of stains and finishes.
